Beatrice Police Promotes AlertSense

March 4, 2021

BEATRICE – The Beatrice Police Department is encouraging people with smart phones to download a free application, called AlertSense. It will connect people into the Southeast Communications system to receive things such as Amber Alert messages and weather updates, along with alerts that target a specific area.

Chief of Police Bruce Lang says for several years, police have used a similar system, but he says this one is better, and will be less expensive.

People can give their address at and have the notification system provide the alerts, at no charge. You can also register more than one address. The system also provides alerts through the homeland security system.
